ROB RUN Heists: Targets, Masks & Clean Exits
How ROB RUN heists work: when to mask up, which targets pay, how to control staff, what to do when police arrive and how to get the bag to a fence.
Quick answer. A ROB RUN heist starts before the mask goes on. Walk the target unmasked, find the exits and the nearest fence, then mask up, control staff at gunpoint, take one bag and leave. The mask is what makes you a criminal; the exit is what makes the heist profitable.
- Unmasked players can scout safely.
- Masked players can be attacked by police and other criminals.
- Death in Looty Bay costs the bag; surrender keeps equipped gear.
- One bag, one exit, no second trip.

Walk the route as a civilian, count the exits, then come back with a mask and a plan.
The mask rule
You are a civilian until you put on a mask. That is not a cosmetic detail; it is the core of the heist loop. A civilian can walk through Looty Bay, watch a store, count the exits and leave without being treated as a criminal.
Once you mask up, three things change:
- Police can arrest or attack you.
- Other criminals can attack you for your bag.
- Your criminal status persists until you leave the city, and you choose a role again the next time you enter.
That last point catches new players. Putting the mask on commits you to the run. Do not mask up in front of the target before you know how you are leaving.
The target ladder
| Target | What it pays | Risk | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Corner store | Cash and low-tier cargo | Low | Best first target; fast in and out |
| Convenience store | Cash, food, supplies | Low | Reliable but low ceiling |
| Jewellery store | High-value cargo | Medium | Small bag, high value per slot |
| Electronics store | Cargo and equipment | Medium | Good for gear as well as cash |
| Bank vault | Cash and deposit boxes | High | Needs a plan for the alarm and the exit |
| Police armoury | Weapons and equipment | Very high | Police respond fast; expect a fight |
| Player base | Stored cargo and cash | Variable | Depends on the owner's defences |
The loot values page→ lists tracked cargo prices, including the Bank Money Bag at around $60,000 and the Unique Collection Crate at around $500,000. Those are base values, not guaranteed fence prices.
Step 1: scout unmasked
Before the mask, confirm four things:
- The entrance. Which door you will use, and whether it is covered.
- The exit. A different door or a window, plus the street it opens onto.
- The fence. The van with a dollar sign, or the nearest Sales Center.
- The response. Where police spawn or patrol, and how long the street takes to clear.
If you cannot answer all four, pick a smaller target. The first heist does not need to be a bank.
Step 2: control the staff
Staff can raise the alarm. Keeping them at gunpoint stops that, and it is faster than clearing the room. You do not need to shoot them; you need them to stay still while you fill the bag.
This is also where solo players lose time. A solo heist is a sequence: control staff, fill bag, watch the door, leave. A team can split the job.
Step 3: split the work in a team
Parties cap at three players in the current build, which maps neatly onto three jobs:
| Role | Job |
|---|---|
| Breacher | Opens the target and handles the first room |
| Hauler | Fills the bag and moves the cargo |
| Cover | Watches the door and the street |
Three players all filling bags is not a team; it is three solo players in the same room. The cover player is the one who prevents the run from ending at the entrance.
Step 4: leave before the bag is full
The most common heist mistake is greed. A full bag is not the goal; a sold bag is. Leave when one of these happens:
- The bag is full.
- Police are inbound.
- A player has seen you and is following.
- Your cover player is down.
The second trip is where the run dies. If the target still has loot, it will have loot after the respawn.
Step 5: sell and bank
Take the cargo to the fence, sell it, and pick the cash up off the counter immediately. Money left on the counter can be stolen or confiscated. Then bank it before you buy anything.
The money guide→ explains the bank and laundering flow. The short version: pocket cash is loot, banked cash is savings.
What happens when police arrive
Police are real players. They can arrest you, fine you, confiscate the bag or accept a bribe. If you are cornered:
- Surrender to keep equipped gear and lose the bag.
- Bribe if you have money in the bank; an accepting officer lets you keep the bag.
- Fight only if you have cover, ammo and a route. Otherwise you lose both.
Dying in Looty Bay as a criminal costs your inventory. Surrendering is not a loss state; it is a smaller loss state. The police guide→ explains the other side of the encounter.
Heist checklist
- Bank your cash before you leave base.
- Carry one bag, not two.
- Scout the target unmasked.
- Confirm the fence before the mask.
- Mask up, control staff, fill one bag.
- Leave on the planned route.
- Sell immediately, take the cash, bank it.
Solo versus co-op
Solo heists are faster to set up and easier to abandon. Co-op heists can carry more and cover more exits, but they also split the payout and add coordination risk.
The current party cap is three. For a first bank job, two players is the sweet spot: one breacher-hauler and one cover. For a corner store, solo is usually better because a second player adds noise without adding bag space.
FAQ
Do I need a mask to rob a store in ROB RUN?
Yes. You are a civilian until you mask up, and only a masked player can commit a robbery.
What happens if I die during a heist?
As a criminal in Looty Bay, you lose your inventory. Surrendering to police keeps your equipped gear but loses the bag.
What is the best first heist target?
A corner store. It is fast, the loss is survivable, and it teaches the scout-mask-exit loop without a bank-sized response.
Can I heist with friends?
Yes. Parties cap at three players, and the useful split is breacher, hauler and cover.
