ROB RUN Bank & Laundering: How to Protect Cash

How banking and laundering work in ROB RUN: opening an account, using ATMs, building a Laundering Desk, and why cash in your pocket is loot for everyone else.

Last Updated: 2026-11-06

Quick answer. Open a bank account at the Looty Bay Bank as a civilian, deposit cash at the bank or an ATM, and build a Laundering Desk at your base for larger sums. Banked money is safe from theft until the weekly wipe; pocket cash can be stolen or confiscated at any time.

  • Pocket cash is loot.
  • Bank money is safe from theft, not from the wipe.
  • Laundering takes time and protects funds until the reset.
  • Early on, Lenny's Motel is the practical cash stop.
  • Withdraw at an ATM when you need to buy.

The four places your money can be

Place Safe from theft? Safe from wipe? Best for
Pocket No No Money you are about to spend
Lenny's Motel Partial No Early-game cash before a bank
Bank account Yes No Savings between runs
Laundering Desk Yes No Large sums after a heist

The table is the whole system. Every banking mistake is a confusion between "safe from players" and "safe from the reset".

Opening a bank account

The bank is in Looty Bay. You need to go there as a civilian, which means no mask and no active criminal status. Open the account, deposit what you are carrying, and leave.

Once the account exists, you can use ATMs to withdraw. That matters because you do not want to walk into the bank with a full bag every time you need spending money.

Do not deposit everything. Keep enough on hand for a fence sale, a rental or an emergency purchase. The bank is for money you are not using this run.

Why pocket cash is a liability

Cash in your pocket is the most stealable thing in the game:

  • A player who kills you can take it.
  • A police officer can confiscate it.
  • A bad run can end with you respawning and the cash gone.

The amount does not matter as much as the habit. A player who banks after every sale loses a bag on death; a player who carries everything loses the cycle's profit.

The money guide→ builds banking into the income loop. The short version: sell, bank, then shop.

Laundering

A Laundering Desk at your base processes cash over time. It is the step between criminal income and money you can hold without it being treated as loose loot.

The key details:

  • The desk is a base facility, so you need a plot first.
  • Processing takes time; it is not instant.
  • The protected funds last until the next wipe.

Laundering is not a way to avoid the wipe. It is a way to avoid losing the money to a player or a police officer before the wipe arrives.

When to launder

Launder when one of these is true:

  1. You are carrying more cash than you can spend this session.
  2. You have finished a large heist and do not have an immediate purchase.
  3. The cycle is more than a day from ending and you want the money available later.

Do not launder small amounts. The time cost is not worth it for pocket money you will spend at the next fence.

The wipe interaction

Every seven days, the Federal Raid clears cash and converts the loss into jail time and authority. That includes banked money and laundered money.

This is the part players get wrong. Banking protects you from other players; it does not protect you from the reset. If the cycle is ending, spend the money on something that improves the next cycle, or accept that it is gone.

The wipe page→ lists exactly what carries over. Cash is not on the list.

Spend before the wipe

A large bank balance in the final days of a cycle is a wasted asset. Buy gear, pay rent, or fund a base upgrade before the Federal Raid.

A practical cash routine

  1. Before a run: withdraw only what you need for fees and a backup purchase.
  2. After a sale: go to the bank or an ATM and deposit the profit.
  3. After a big heist: launder the portion you will not spend this session.
  4. Before the wipe: spend down the balance on gear, rent or base upgrades.
  5. Never: carry the whole cycle's profit into a heist.

This routine is boring, and it is the difference between a player who compounds and a player who starts over every time they die.

Bank or base safe?

A base safe is storage, not a bank. It can be raided, and the contents are wiped. A bank account cannot be raided, but it is still wiped.

Use the base safe for gear and cargo you will use this cycle. Use the bank for money between runs. Use the Laundering Desk for large sums that need to sit safely for a few days.

FAQ

How do I open a bank account in ROB RUN?

Go to the Looty Bay Bank as a civilian and open an account. You can then deposit and withdraw at the bank or an ATM.

Is money in the bank safe from other players?

Yes. Banked money cannot be stolen or confiscated by players. It is still cleared at the weekly wipe.

What does the Laundering Desk do?

It processes cash over time at your base and protects the funds until the next wipe. It does not make money survive the wipe.

Where do I keep cash before I have a bank?

Lenny's Motel is the early-game cash stop. It is not a substitute for a bank account once you can open one.
